Great news for sports cars collectors, the one-off 2005 Ford Shelby GR-1 concept car will be up for auction at RM Auctions. The car features a mixed exterior design based from both Ford GT and the 1964 Shelby Daytona coupe. However, the GR-1 has no juicer under its hood, not even a drive-train or interiors. So this concept car will not satisfy buyers looking to drive it, but only those who have the collector’s heart. The proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Auction date will be on August 19, 2011. $150,000+.

Toyota Prius hybrid |
Fans of the original Charger are furious about the new car's excessive number of doors, but its designer Mark Hall says: 'The coupé market simply isn't as strong as it was in the late 1960s, so we needed to give it the expression of a coupé with a four-door body.' Hall is particularly fond of a 'kick-up' on the rear door, in homage to the swooping bodywork of previous Chargers. A new Daytona R/T is also being sold with stripes, graphics and a spoiler to echo the original hot models.
Hot SRT8 versions are also offered for the 300C and Dodge Magnum, and have been received enthusiastically by the buying public. Remarkably, given the appalling reviews, the new 'Dukes of Hazzard' movie has also given the Charger a boost. Traffic to its page on Edmunds.com shot up 25 per cent the weekend of its launch while hits on the rest of the site fell by 4 per cent.

Chrysler demonstrated its intention to continue using the power and wild design at the 2005 Detroit Show. One of the stars of the show was the Jeep Hurricane, which had not one but two Hemis - one in each end.
Numerous new patents were needed to build this monstrous off-roader, which can climb just about anything and spin on its own axis. Another clever trick is that the rotational direction of each prop shaft applies a downward force to each wheel. The engines together deliver a total of 500kW/670 bhp and 1,003 N.m/740lb ft of torque, but the Hurricane can shut down banks of cylinders until it is pottering along on just four.
The Chrysler Crossfire, launched on the same stage the day before, is described as a Grand Tourer concept. Its designer Tom Tremont says: 'Its proportions are like a classic Aston Martin or Jaguar, there's nothing retro about it.' The concept sits on the Dodge Viper chassis and is powered by the 317 kW/425 bhp 6.1-litre SRT V8 engine.
The Viper also drew a crowd at the show because it was sporting a new hardtop, developed by American Specialty Cars to answer the demands of racing enthusiasts.
Its deadly rival from GM, the Corvette was also wearing a tin lid. The Z06 road car was developed in tandem with the C6-R Le Mans race car, and both use a 7.0-litre version of the so-called Small-Block Chevy V8 delivering 374 kW/500 bhp. This means a 0-60 mph time of around 4 seconds and a top speed of more than 306 km/h/190 mph for the roadgoing car.
GM has also pepped up its Pontiac GTO, to deliver 298 kW/400bhp at 5200 r/min and 536 Nm/395lb ft at 4,000 r/min - the previous model delivered a feeble 261 kW/350 bhp.
Even Cadillac, has been hitting back with increased muscle. The CTS-v squares up against the 300C SRT8 with 298 kW/400bhp at 6,000 r/min and 536 N.m/395lb ft at 4,800 r/min. The monster STS-v has the BMW M5 in its sights, and its supercharged Northstar V8 offers the highest horsepower rating of any Cadillac to date: 328 kW/440 bhp at 6,400 r/min. Plus, it delivers 583 N.m/430lb ft at 3,600 r/min.
America may downsize one day, but for now the V8 remains its weapon of choice against all-comers.

- Although white tigers are extremely beautiful animals, they serve noconservation purpose, with the exception of increasing attendance to zoos. Thus increasing public awareness andeducation of the plight of all endangered animals. For this reason, the SSP (Species Survival Plan) coordinators for the various surviving subspecies of tiger do not authorize breeding the white tiger in their managed programs. Still this remarkable animal continues to bring hundreds of thousands of fascinated visitors to zoos and educational facilities across the world. Public awareness is the first step in conservation.

Info: Tigers in general are the biggest cats in the world. They live in steamy hot jungles as well as icy cold forest habitats. There are five different kinds or subspecies of tiger alive in the world today.
These tigers are called Siberian, South China, Indochinese, Bengal, and Sumatran. Their Latin name is Panthera tigris. Tigers are an endangered species; only about 5,000 to 7,400 tigers are left in the wild. Three tiger subspecies, the Bali, Javan, and Caspian tigers have become extinct in the past 70 years.
Habits: Unlike some big cats like lions, adult tigers like to live alone (except for mother tigers with cubs). This is partly because in the forest, a single tiger can sneak up and surprise its prey better than a group of tigers can.
Range and Habitat: The size of a tiger's territory depends on the amount of food available, and usually ranges from about 10 to 30 square miles (26-78 sq. km). Siberian tigers sometimes have really big territories (as large as 120 square miles). Although tigers usually live alone, tiger territories can overlap. A male tiger's territory usually overlaps those of several female tigers. Today only about 5,000–7,000 wild tigers live across Asia. The past and present ranges of the remaining five tiger subspecies are illustrated. The northernmost living tiger, the Amur or Siberian tiger, lives primarily in southeastern Russia. The South China tiger occurs only in southern China. The range of the Indochinese tiger extends across most of Southeast Asia. The Bengal tiger is found primarily in India, while the Sumatran tiger is restricted to the Indonesian island of Sumatra. The Bali, Caspian, and Javan tigers have become extinct in the past 70 years.
Reproduction and Rearing: Female tigers reach maturity when they are about 3 years old, males a year or so later. In temperate climates, a tigress comes into estrus (heat) only seasonally; however in tropical climates, she may come into estrus throughout the year (unless she is pregnant, or is raising cubs). She signals her readiness with scent markings and locating roars. The brief act of copulation occurs continually for a five day period. Tigers are induced ovulators, and must be stimulated through frequent copulation in order to become pregnant. To help stimulate ovulation, the male tiger's penis has spines.
Baby White Tigers, The Cutest of all the Cubs
Following mating, the gestation period for tigers is approximately103 days. The male tiger does not stay with the female after mating, and does not participate in raising the cubs. The average litter size of tigers is 2 or 3 cubs (the largest is 5). One usually dies at birth. Once a tigress has mated and given birth to cubs, she will not come into estrus again until her cubs are between one and a half and three years of age, with enough skills to begin life on their own.
Diet: Over much of the tiger's broad geographic range, wild pig, wild cattle and several species of deer are its major prey. All prey are forest or grassland ungulates that range in size from 65 to 2,000 pounds (30-900 kg). Typically, wild tigers gorge themselves on fresh kills, and can eat as much as 40 pounds (18 kg) of meat at one time. The tiger will not eat again for several days.Status: At the beginning of this century it is estimated that there were 100,000 wild tigers, today the number is less than 8,000. Simply put, tigers are disappearing in the wild. The main threats to tigers are poaching, habitat loss and population fragmentation.Conservation & Ecology: Across all of Asia, once vast forests have fallen for timber or conversion to agriculture. Only small islands of forest surrounded by a growing and relatively poor human population are left. As forest space is reduced, the number of animals left in the forest is also reduced, and tigers cannot find the prey they need to survive. As a result, tigers begin to eat the livestock of villagers who live near them. Sometimes tigers even attack humans. People sometimes kill the tigers in order to protect themselves and their livestock. As human populations move farther into the forest, groups of tigers become separated from each other by villages and farms. This means that tigers in one area can no longer mate with tigers in nearby areas. Instead, tigers must breed repeatedly with the same small group of animals. Over time, this inbreeding weakens the gene pool, and tigers are born with birth defects and mutations.
Even though it is illegal to kill a tiger, wild tigers are still being poached today because their bones, whiskers and other body parts can be sold on the black market for a lot of money. Tiger parts are used in traditional Chinese medicine because some people believe that tiger parts have special powers. Forestry and wildlife departments are too understaffed and under budgeted to be effective against the onslaught of poachers. While the exact number of tigers being poached is unknown, some sources have estimated that one tiger a day is being killed in India.

It has been designated after the GT-Class model, which was designed to battle in; it has a standard 3.6-liter 6-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, which was developed based on the engine-unit used in the 962 and 911 GT1 sport race cars.
A number of alternatives have been designed for both track duty and road since its introduction in 1999. The present model range consists of 2-road and 3-sport racing models.
Additionally, the automaker is presently producing a new hybrid edition, which uses 2-electric motors, and a standard kinetic energy recovery system that was initially produced for F1.
Let’s take a look at the following exotic collection of the best Porsche GT3 desktop wallpapers
Though Pontiac GTO had the distinction of being the first muscle car, it is quite unfortunate that it did not go through uninterrupted production.
The new GTO is powered by a 5.7 L V8 engine that can deliver 340 horsepower at 5200 rpm, and 360 pound-feet of torque at 4000 RPM, mated to a standard 6-speed manual transmission system and optional 4-speed automatic transmission.

[edit]Quantum of Solace (2008)
As production of Casino Royale reached its conclusion, producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli announced that pre-production work had already begun on the 22nd Bond film. After several months of speculation as to the release date, Wilson and Broccoli announced on 20 July 2006 that the follow-up film,Quantum of Solace,[104] would be released on 2 May 2008 and that Craig had been signed to play Bond, with an option for a third film.[105] Quantum of Solace was eventually released on 31 October 2008 in the UK and 14 November 2008 in North America, changed from its original release date of 7 November 2008 after Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was pushed back to summer 2009. Upon its opening in the UK, it grossed £4.9 million, breaking the record for the largest Friday opening (31 October 2008) in the UK.[106] The film then broke the UK opening weekend record, taking £15.5 million in its first weekend, surpassing the previous record of £14.9 million held by Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.[107][108] The film grossed $27 million on its opening day in 3,451 cinemas in Canada and the United States. It was the #1 film for the weekend, with $67.5 million and $19,568 average per cinema.[109] It was the highest-grossing opening weekend Bond film in the US and Canada,[110] and tied with The Incredibles for the biggest November opening outside of the Harry Potter series.[111]
Columbia Pictures co-financed and distributed Craig's first two films because they bought MGM in 2005. However, MGM chose to cease the distribution deal with Columbia following the success of Casino Royale (for which Columbia provided 75% of the budget). In the agreement, Columbia chose to finance one more Bond film, Quantum of Solace.[112] However, in April 2011, a deal was finalized allowing Columbia/Sony to continue to be involved with the James Bond film series, picking up where they left off with Bond 23 and Bond 24.[113] Despite the renewed 007 partnership, 20th Century Fox will continue to handle home video rights to the film series on behalf of MGM as Fox's output distribution deal was also renewed in April 2011.
[edit]Skyfall (2012)
Skyfall, then known by the working title Bond 23, was suspended throughout 2010 because of MGM's financial troubles; however, following MGM's exit from bankruptcy on 21 December 2010, Bond 23 resumed pre-production and in January 2011 was officially given a release date of 9 November 2012 by MGM and the Broccoli family, with production scheduled to start in late 2011. Since then, MGM and Sony Pictures announced that the UK and Ireland release date would be brought forward to 26 October 2012, two weeks prior to the USA release date, which will remain November 9.[114] The film will be part of yearlong celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Dr. No and the Bond franchise. Following speculation that the film would be titled "Skyfall" after a series of domain names were discovered to have been registered on behalf of Sony Pictures,[115] the title was officially confirmed at a press conference on 3 November, 2011, fifty years to the day since Sean Connery was annouced to be the first James Bond. The film will be directed by Sam Mendes.
Peter Morgan was originally commissioned to write a script, but left the project when MGM filed for bankruptcy and production of the film stalled. The final script was written by Bond screenwriting regulars Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, as well as John Logan.[116][117][118] Roger Deakins will be the film's cinematographer, having previously worked with Mendes onJarhead and Revolutionary Road.[119]
Judi Dench was confirmed as reprising her role as M and revealed that she was needed by the production team as early as November 2011.[120] In January 2011, Deadline.com reported that Eon Productions offered Javier Bardem a starring role.[121] In an October 2011 interview with Christiane Amanpour for ABC's Nightline, Bardem confirmed his role in the film.[122]British actors Ralph Fiennes[123] and Albert Finney[124] were connected to roles, and confirmed to be a part of the cast at the November press event. The producers met with Naomie Harris; while it was initially reported that she would be cast as Miss Moneypenny, Harris revealed that she will play a field agent named Eve.[125]. Ben Whishaw has been cast as Q [126]
Sam Mendes and Barbara Broccoli travelled to South Africa for location scouting in April, 2011.[127] With the film moving into pre-production in August, reports emerged that shooting would take place in India,[128] with scenes to be shot in the Sarojini Nagar district of New Delhi[129] and on railway lines between Goa and Ahmedabad,[130] but complications emerged when the Indian authorities requested changes be made to planned scenes,[131] and plans to shoot in India were abandoned.[132] Further reports emerged stating that filming of the film's opening scenes would take place in Istanbul's Sultanahmet Square[133] and Duntrune Castle in Argyll, Scotland for the finale.[134] Mendes confirmed that China would be featured in the film, with shooting scheduled to take place in Shanghai.[135]

MCN overall verdict
The new Kawasaki ZX-10R scores an easy five out of five; it surely must be the fastest production 1000cc bike of the current crop. But this ZX-10R is not all about Kawasaki’s new blistering engine and head-banging attitude, it’s controllable and handles much better than the previous ZX-10R and despite the blistering pace is actually easier to ride. Not for the faint hearted, the new ZX-10R is a true superbike for the road.Specifications
