Lauren Williams (born September 13, 1981 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is a professional wrestling performer in sports entertainment. She was trained by Rob “El Fuego” Etcheverrial, before making her wrestling debut in August 2000.
Better known by her ringname Angelina Love, the five-time Women’s World Champion currently wrestles for Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling, which airs “IMPACT WRESTLING” every Thursday at 9 PM EST on Spike TV. She also performs as Angel Williams outside of TNA, which was her original ringname when she started in the business.
World Wrestling Entertainment:
In November 2004, Williams began training with Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) before WWE signed her to a developmental contract late that year. She was assigned to Deep South Wrestling (DSW), one of developmental territories for WWE at the time. On February 9, 2006, Williams was injured during a DSW TV taping, which resulted in surgery later that month to repair a torn ACL. Williams would be moved back to OVW after DSW shut down in early 2007, before being released from her WWE developmental contract on May 17, 2007.
Total Nonstop Action Wrestling:
After making sporadic appearances on TNA Wrestling’s syndicated television program “Xplosion” in 2004, Williams returned in 2007 at the third annual “Bound For Glory” pay-per-view for the launching of the new TNA Knockouts division for women’s wrestling.
Soon after her TNA debut in 2007, Williams picked up her new ringname “Angelina Love” and teamed with Velvet Sky to form “The Beautiful People” tag team. The formation would go on to become one of the most popular tandem’s in TNA Knockouts history – achieving some of the highest rated segments for “TNA iMPACT!” on Spike TV. More wrestlers eventually joined The Beautiful People, turning the tag team into a faction with stable members that included Cute Kip (aka Billy Gunn of D-Generation X fame in WWE), Madison Rayne, and Lacey Von Erich.
Angelina Love has become a cornerstone for the Knockouts division in IMPACT WRESTLING today, having won the TNA Knockouts Championship a record five times. In 2010, Angelina Love broke off of The Beautiful People and went down a new dark-founded direction with fellow TNA Knockout, Winter, and achieved tag team success by winning the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship.
Jamie Szantyr (born June 2, 1981 in New Britain, Connecticut, USA) is a professional wrestling performer in sports entertainment. Jason Knight and Kevin Landry trained Szantyr, before she made her wrestling debut in 2003.
Better known by her ringname Velvet Sky, the one-time Women’s World Champion currently wrestles for Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling, which airs “IMPACT WRESTLING” every Thursday at 9 PM EST on Spike TV. She also performs as Talia Madison and Miss Taliaoutside of TNA.
Total Nonstop Action Wrestling:
Szantyr made her debut in TNA, initially as Talia Madison, at the TNA Bound For Glory pay-per-view in October 2007. She took part in the 10-woman Gauntlet Match to crown the promotion’s first ever TNA Knockouts Champion.
By December 2007, Szantyr became known as Velvet Sky – teaming with Angelina Love to make up “The Beautiful People” faction, which would later include other members like Madison Rayne, Lacey Von Erich, and Cute Kip (aka Billy Gunn of D-Generation X fame in WWE).
Collectively with Angelina Love, Velvet Sky took part in some of the highest rated segments for “TNA iMPACT!” on Spike TV between 2007 and 2009. The TNA Knockouts division became a cornerstone for the television program, which goes by the name of IMPACT WRESTLING today.
On March 8, 2010, Velvet Sky won the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship with Madison Rayne by winning a three-way match against the teams of Sarita and Taylor Wilde, and Tara with Angelina Love, who broke away from The Beautiful People. Lacey Von Erich was credited with the title win as well, per Freebird Rule.
In 2011, Velvet Sky began competing as a singles wrestler in TNA. Her efforts in the ring would culminate at the TNA Bound For Glory pay-per-view in October, when she defeated Winter, Madison Rayne, and Mickie James in a four-way match to win her very first TNA Knockouts Championship. She would lose the title 28 days later to Gail Kim at TNA Turning Point.
